Two more State Water Contractors member agencies are on board for California WaterFix. Kern County Water Agency, SWC's biggest agricultural water agency, and Alameda County Water District both pledged their commitments to the project yesterday, and became the 10th and 11th SWC agencies to do so, respectively.
In response to the decision, Alameda County Water District Board President John Weed offered the following statement:
"The Board’s vote tonight demonstrates our commitment to ensuring a reliable and resilient water supply for our customers. Based on the information we’ve received to date, we believe the WaterFix project is an effective way to meet the District’s long-term water supply reliability goals.”
SWC members will continue to vote on whether to support the project in the coming weeks. To stay up to date with the latest news about our members' decisions, connect with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
