Westlands Water District Supports the Need for the State Water Board to Enforce Central and South Delta Water Users to Accurately Report Delta Diversions
On July 23, 2014, the California Department of Water Resources and the United States Bureau of Reclamation submitted a letter to the State Water Resources Control Board (“State Water Board”), in which DWR and Reclamation requested that the State Water Board use its authority to order those south and central Delta diverters claiming riparian and pre-1914 water rights to provide the State Water Board with information regarding the diverters’ claimed water rights and the scope of their diversions.

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) sent a letter of request to the State Water Resources Control Board asking the Board to exercise its authority and enforce south and central Delta diverters to follow the law, which requires these water users to report information that accurately reflects the quantity of water diverted and expected to be diverted.
