Member agencies of the State Water Contractors, while facing diverse regional issues, also face many of the same statewide policy, legislative, technical and legal issues. A key purpose of the State Water Contractors organization is to work with member agencies and state leadership to address these issues so that we may ensure a safe and reliable drinking water supply, protect the environment and public health, while promoting conservation and greater efficiency throughout California.
The State Water Contractors have been involved in a variety of major policy areas during the past several years. In 2007, the organization identified the need for a balanced and sustainable San Francisco/Sacramento – San Joaquin Bay - Delta (Delta) as its priority issue.
