Governor Brown Makes Bay Delta Conservation Plan Top Priority

State and Federal Governments Agree to Have Basic Elements of Project Established by Summer 2012

In today’s State of the State address, Governor Jerry Brown included remarks on the need to move forward with the Bay Delta Conservation Plan and he indicated that the basic elements of the project will be in place by summer of this year.

The Governor’s remarks are available here, and below is a statement from the State Water Contractors in response.

Sacramento, CA – “It’s clear that the Bay Delta Conservation Plan is a priority for both Governor Brown and Secretary Salazar, and we’re pleased to see this commitment from both the state and federal administrations. As the Governor mentioned, this project will certainly take time and political will, but public water agencies and countless others stand ready to help make the Bay Delta Conservation Plan a reality.”
