First 2012 Snow Survey Brings Record Low Snow Pack Measurements

Sacramento, CA - “The extremely low results of today’s snow survey show again how dramatically weather conditions can change from year to year. While there’s still plenty of time for the situation to improve, this should be a significant reminder for us all that we need to be able to take advantage of extremely wet years in order to prepare for dry years—this means having a reliable water delivery system in place that allows us to move water when it’s available.

We remain optimistic that 2012 will be a good year for our water supply, but we still must continue taking steps to improve and restore long-term water reliability in the state through the Bay Delta Conservation Plan.”
