Four Southern California Water Districts Vote in Favor of California WaterFix
05 October 2017

It's been a big week for California WaterFix in Southern California. Four SoCal water districts, including three SWC member agencies—San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency, Desert Water Agency and San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water Agency—have all unanimously voted in favor of resolutions supporting the project this week.

Susan Longville, president of the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors, offered the following statement in response to her board's vote:

“Valley District was formed to ensure long-term water supply reliability for our region and the State Water Project is our primary source for supplemental water. We are committed to protecting the investment made in the State Water Project by our constituents while, at the same time, protecting fish species in the Delta.”

More SWC members will be voting on whether to support the project in the coming weeks, and their votes will have major implications for the timeline and construction of the project.
